Taylor-Joy said that her move was traumatic, and refused to pursue a degree in English because she hoped to be able to return to Argentina. Later, she enrolled at Queen's Gate School in which she was a ballet student and took part in school-based plays. At 16, she quit the school in order to focus in acting full-time.
